Pearls are formed through irritation and are a symbol of wisdom. In Chinese culture, it is often a dragon holding a pearl symbolizing a chasing of enlightenment. Born in the year of the dragon and with Megan meaning pearl, I am both the dragon and the pearl. Throughout my time here I have experienced irritation that has allowed me to become wiser and it has been a journey of enlightenment. The darker colors and frayed layers starting at the bottom of the skirt represent the inside of a pearl, coming up and becoming the shiny completed outside of the pearl.
